Good, it reveals the true personality of people. GS, Your a completely different person than I expected. But, lets go on with the debate.

It's all going to go back to the same question: Do aliens exist? Unless someone's going to change their answer, I can't see much changing.

Uranus? Why go there, its a gas wasteland. Need to expand, one day, humans will have to move to other planets.

With a few tweaks, Mars could be inhabitable. But uh, those would be major tweaks. Luckily, mankind is an expert at global warming . We'll figure out the oxygen problem later.

Well, acording to Nasas space shuttles, they found a chemical that is related to water, but, the chemical is almost like the after remains of water when exposed to space, it seems that Mars once could substain life, but its atmosphere erroded away.

Which, of course suggests that maybe alien life existed there once, or, going back to Doc's theory, maybe it is the traces of a human colony before it got destroyed and we had to start all over.

If there was alien life than there would be a sign of it. Unless they were primitive, then their remains would have decayed long ago. Or perhaps they were subterainian people. I think it a bad idea to colonize Mars so soon because we can't sustain a new colony almost devoid of our requirements, oxygen included, and we have too many problems to solve here. No point in expanding them yet.

Also on a sidenote, some scientists believe that there was plant life on Mars, many a year ago, because of what the Doc. said.

Yeah, basic life was defantly there, Mars is basically a early stage of what will happen to earth in the next couple million years, atmosphere will erode away, and Earth will look like mars.

But the question is, will we end up like the inhabitance of Mars. If they were primitive or advanced but had no capabilities of long range space travel, then they would have surely died. Perhaps we will find a new planet should that happen.

Well, we got a few million years, weve been here for about 6000 years, I think we'll be pretty advanced by another 2 or 3 million. That is if we dont destroy ourselves.

Well, its a definate possibility that we do destroy ourselves, but we'll be very well off if we manage to survive.

As the Doc may have said before, If an alien race comes to kill us than we would respond like this: We're doing a good job of that already.

I just believe what I read in the Bible. No alien life, or we would have been told otherwise. I totally agree, GS, I too am a Christian and this is what I use to support my belief that aliens do not exist, as fun as they are to make movies and books about. For what Dr C says about God: God is saddened by how people sin all the time, but we all know no one is perfect -- that's why Jesus died for us. God knew that people would sin against Him since the beginning. You might think I am an idiot based on one post then, but not only do you have to take some things on faith, BUT, there is proof proving that Jesus existed and I heard that there have been some negotiations to look for the ark if it's still there on top of Mt. Vernon. I don't think anyone is an idiot based on their beliefs, I don't consider them gullable, because I know that they are just as entitled to their opinion as I am. I remember a quote from my favorite TV show that said, "Just because we don't believe in something [or haven't experienced it] doesn't mean it doesn't exist".
