Which in turn could make you disappointed because the movie did not turn out as you expected or desired. That is the reason why I'm very hesitant to see a Drizzt movie assuming one ever comes.

I think that the author Michael Crichton used to be a an excellent author and most think he still is. I still admire his plot and talents, but I think that after Jurassic Park, most of his books are written to be adapted to the screen. This is not always the case for everything he writes, however. My point here is that many authors today are turning to writing screenovels instead of novels. The good authors ought never to do so.

Agreed. In some cases, the movies would be better if the original story came from a book in the first place.
