Well i have not been informed of those but a friend told me of alleged homosexuality among Hitler's closest circles. If i do remember correctly Russia's winter played a role in stalling Napoleon's troops as well.

I never heared of that. I heared that the Nazi's were using crystal meth to improve attack preformance. I doubt that, a health agent makeing a presentation in school said that but I think it was only to make people understand the effects. Some also say that Hitler himself was crazy because of and STD! I just don't accept that. It is possible, but his supposed insanity was not because of that!

More ridiculous things have happened. As I recall, part of the Nazi's defeat in Russia was caused by the cold weather that they weren't used to, and had very negative effects upon their tanks and armored vehicles. Hah, the cause of Hitler's DEATH is unclear, let alone the details of his state of mind!

That is what happened and it played a huge role in Hitler's defeate, but the drug use idea I think was only meant to try to deter kids from using crystal meth. We seem to be talking about history a lot now...time for a new topic for it!

Yes and this topic should be for authors who made stunning predictions about society as we know it now.

There must have been a lot who predicted the end of the world, but so far it hasn't come yet. I guess we will have to wait and see if some of them are true assuming we will survive that long.

What, predicting what new technology there will (Or would) be in the future? Or are you thinking along the lines of predictions about technology that were made in the past, such as Y2K?

Remember the very old predictions that this century would be like a very highly technological paradise? If anyone who made that predition lived to us now, they would be dissapointed. But there will be a day when that happens I'm sure, and I will be long dead when that happens.

I do remember those technoworld predictions and i have seen them often, yes they would have been dissapointed. Mr. Wells and Mr. Verne would be, but i am not sure that George Orwell would. He predicted that 1984 would be be a communist world.

Not true but not entirely false wither. There are communist countries but not all of them are. Who is this George Orwell, other than the guy who predicted a communist world in 1984?

I didn't read the book but I have seen the movie. It seems more historical than scientific to me though. It sounds like a classic tale of a corrupted leader using his people to get what he wants and in the end was destroyed. If the movie was accurate to ther book, than ironically enough, the pig who took over as leader was called Napoleon.
