Alright, its about time I said this--I have made my opinion that I, at first hated Final Fantasy quite clear at the beginning. I know now that my decision was far too hasty, made for many reasons, but not the ones that actually mattered. For example, I hatd Final Fantasy because the people I knew who play it are fools, there are sometimes very odd childish clips in the games, and in #10, the main character is a bit. . . queer. But I've heard much of FF7, seen clips of Dirge of Cerberus, seen the amazing graphics, and I've changed my mind. I am perfectly willing to try those games. I realize this won't be much of a discussion topic, but decided to say it anyway. They are the same people who made Chrono Trigger, after all. Somehow, though, I can't see Final Fantasy quite measuring up to Chrono Trigger in terms of innovation.

I don't think they can compare but I'm sure the are good games. I would love to try them too but I don't have a PS2 to do so.

The movie, the graphics in particluar, is amazing, the games are a genre I enjoy. I looks like there are some actually well-made characters as well.

With the exception of a few select characters. (You know who I mean)

Ive played 10, and yes, the main character is a goof. Auron is probably the only neat character.
Im defantly planning on getting all FF7 games, since they're going so far into the series.

Of course. I haven't actually seen the movie, only clips, but I'd like to see it in its completion, as well as play the games. I admit, many of them look great.

FF7 is the best FF game, if you could only get one game, get that. The others are not bad.

Sephiroth and Vincent are the characters that I am most intrigued with. Add to this the fact that SquareSoft/Enix are practically the masters of cinematics and movie graphics.

They should use that skill to make a Chrono movie some day. Now that would be great!

that would be neat, but its not likey. CC was popular everwhere. ( Greatest Hits, over 1,000,000 sold in a year) but it wasnt that popular.

What? You just said it was popular and it wasn't? Which is it? If you meant popular then they should make a movie on it. It would be very entertaining and it would bring in a lot of money.

CC was popular. Thats it, not popular enough to do anything else on it.
CT made about 600,000 sales in a year.
CC made about 600,000 sales in a year as well.
The Final Fantasy 7 movie alone made over 500,000 sales in a WEEK!

It makes sense that they would make a movie for final fantasy then, but still, they probably have enough money now to risk making a Chrono movie if they felt like it.

No, CT and CC were good, but they were too confusing for people who didnt think about it alot, Thats why it didnt get far. SE did try making a remake, twice, but had to cancel each time.

Its a shame. But I see the diminished sales of CT and CC as a possible good omen. By the way, Drizzt, your claim that they could make a Chrono movie may not be on solid grounds. Why would they make one if there is more money to be made in Final Fantasy, where the fanbase is much larger? Besides, the Chrono series being complex has no bearing on whether or not the game is good, just that Final Fantasy is simple enough for most people to get most of the story without hours of thought.
