Only 50 pixels will reduce it by half?

Now that makes sense.

So you get it? Good.

Well ,thats just an example. In 3D, the camera doesnt use pixels, it uses FOV. So, maybe at 100 FOV, the texture will be about 25% of the real size.

Never heard of FOV.

Its used in the camera. Its called a FOV or Field Of View. Its a bit confusing though, since you can be the same distance away from a objecty and have completely different FOVs. EG, you could be up close at a cube, and have a FOV of 30, then ,yuo could be at FOV 170, and the cube will still be the same size, basically, FOV is how much the camera "can" see. 170 really Fu*ks up the camera though mind you, with anim8or, try keeping the FOV between 30-60. Any more or less, and you'll get screwed.

OK. I'll take that advice.

But yeah, all programs use FOV. Its just soem can handle 30-60, and some can handle 10-100 ect.ect.

But never, repeat NEVER use 170 FOV?

Oh no. 170will really F*ck up the way it renders and stuff. I dont know why, but 30-90 is good from anim8or.

Ok, goods, now back on topic, yesterday, I was rendering a real advanced model with anim8or, and it only took 40 seconds for a 1024x768 screenshot.
Mals computer is much better, and his blender takes minutes to render a 800x600 shot!

So, how does that make Mal's computer better?
