Mine would be a tie between Eko, Locke and Sawyer. EKo is just so awesome, Locke so mysterious, and Sawyer so funny!

desmond all the way. For Season 1, and start of 2, it would of Been Locke, becuase he was just a cool, myterious character, then Eko, but there is a lot of Desmond that might happen in Season 3.

I must admit, this is a difficult choice. My first instinct would be to say Desmond, because he is almost an instantly likable character, but there is also Locke. I suppose Sawyer could be in there somewhere as well, but he and Locke are on the list because they are present for much longer in the show than Desmond, therefore there is a better opportunity to identify with those characters... I abstain my vote at present.

I didn't vote yet, i too have trouble deciding. Locke, Eko and Desmond play some of the biggest roles. They are no doubt my favourites but i can't decide.

Looking back at S1, I would say that Sawyer would actually be one of my favorites since he was the coolest character at the beggining.

Yes, Sawyer did have some appeal to his character, the only one who spoke for himself and didn't follow orders, that sort of thing. Add to that the fact that he didn't back down when nearly mauled by a bear.

I liked him off the start too. he struck me as a survivor, but now he seems to be demoted compared to Locke and Eko.

Jack's role seems to have been somewhat minimized. The pilot epsiode immediatly casts him in the light of the main character, but naturally it wouldn't stay that way.

I think they are drawing his backstory out way too much.

Perhaps. Why do you think so?

They keep on pulling more people into his backstory. Desmond got in there, Ana Lucia, Shannon, and now theories say that the reason Locke got paralyzed is because Jack operated on him bad or that Hurley's deck fell on him.

Unless Jack is still intended to be the main character, then yes there is a little much of his history.
