Then I won't bother continuing this conversation then.
For some time I have considered joining the military as a chef. Chefs eveywhere are in high demand so my job would be secure to say the least. They did say it might be a little bit dangerous joining the military even as a chef, but oh well, life's not safe anyway. Anyone else have an interest in the military?

BUMP
I did have an interest in the military, and I might resort to it if I don't feel like doing business stuff. that stuff is stupid. The Air Force wouldn't be bad, so long as I get to be a freaking pilot. Personally, a job with Mission Control at NASA would also be something I might want to do, because 1) you're doing cool work and 2) you get to have fun doing it. Everything that I've read or seen about Mission Control on the job is them having fun while they work.

What more could you ask for in a job? If that's the majority of the work you do then that would be somthing to consider, but what exactly have you heared about mission control that piques your interest?

Well, not only do they have to make sure everything is just right for the missions, and find out exactly when and where to land, but they get to joke around with the astronauts, and get to go nuts when something works out. And it's not like it's a 24/7 job. And, it's mission control. It's NASA. That probably means big salaries.

Income would be vast I don't doubt that. A job like that would probably be a lot of mathematical work and I don't think it would be as relaxing as you make it sound, unless you're really good at the job, but what to I know, I never tried the job before.

I myself, have known my future career for a while now. VIDEO. GAME.DESIGNER. Why? For starters, good designers are in high demand, and they have an excellent beginning annual salary, 100,000 per year. Second, You'll be making the games that you once or still do cherish. Finally, you have ALOT of fun making games in the office. It's no 50x50 white room with little cubicles with a little "NO TALKING" sign. In fact, its quite the opposite.
So, now you know what I want to do and why. Even though it sounds good to me, It might not to everybody else

That's nice, Mecha. XD Income would be vast I don't doubt that. A job like that would probably be a lot of mathematical work and I don't think it would be as relaxing as you make it sound, unless you're really good at the job, but what to I know, I never tried the job before. Well, a reason that I would consider a job like that is because I excel in that area. I know it's weird, but I do. But it probably isn't that bad. When there isn't a manned mission then it isn't as hectic, and when there is, you get to poke fun at the astronauts. The other option I wouldn't mind is to be one of the astronauts.

I see your point. If you are good in that field then you could easily enjoy it.
I personally would not like to be an astronaut. Your journey would sometimes take years in one cramped ship. The end result would be pleasing (if everything goes right) but for me its too long of a wait.
Mecha, if you can make it happen then that is a good career to get into. The only tedious part would be the programming and the modeling but it would be a very rewarding job.

Well, usually the trips only take several days at max. Trips to the ISS only take about 3 days, and trips to the moon wouldn't be much longer.

Hmm..Careers...I've been thinking about this for a long while. I could work in a newspaper, but i think that would get monotonous. On the other hand, the fields of nuclear physics and the like are expanding daily, and knowledge of those would make writing science fiction much easier. I think I will end up in a scientific field.

A scientific field would be challenging and time consuming, but very rewarding. I once considered taking up a science field for a career, but I would rather do something more applied and that does not require so much paper work. I still like to learn more in that field but as a hobby.

I also wouldn't mind being a rocket scientist. Heck, I may end up making nukes.

That would be interesting to say the least. Controversial that job would be, and possibly not a very stable job since so many are trying to prevent a nuclear war. Though I wonder what its like to help create one.

It would be interesting to know what it felt like once people knew they helped make the first one.

I've always wondered what it would be like to be a merchant in the middle ages. I would not want to be peasant, that's for sure.
