I would agree with you EC. The bird might be the Cererbus system, assuming that it is capable of changing form. If the system kills off of fear, then it should have also killed Locke.

Locke had no fear, if you watched S1, he looked it right in the eye.

Possibly so. There might also be 3, the 3rd one being a hostle one, while the other are just curious.

#1: It is nanotechnology, Nanotech is computer cells with the ability to form any shape possible, since the cells are programed to become any type of cell they want, EVIDENCE: 1: Jacks dad in season 1 is dead, but you see him walking around a few times i nthe frist episodes, even though jack cant catch him, he is simply there. 2: The polar bear in the comic, clearly shows up later on, in a tropical area, now this could be Dharma experments, or the Cerberus system in the form of the bear. Are you drawing off of ideas from Michael Crichton's book Prey? If you aren't then take a look at it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prey_%28novel%29

ive read most of his books, Jurassic Park was one. By the way at this hotel i am staying at, they have this third floor lobby where the free breakfast is served and that has an outside patio. It is very nice and comfortable, like an open air restaurant. Anyway, my first time down there, I was looking through their bookshelves, and I found the book. I had never read it, so right then I started. This was, as of right now in Seattle time, yesterday, and I am on page 269/364. It is very interesting. I picked up some things about the nanoswarms. -They can imitate prey by creating a mirror image of it -They are self-sustaining and have memory -They can learn -They are able to control people by entering their bodies. When i finish i can provide more insight. Namaste
