This thread is to post particularily memorable quotes from books, movies, TV shows, etc. Any you want, really. This topic is quite hit or miss, so I'll get it rolling.
"Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it" -Raistlin Majere in "Dragons of Autumn Twilight"
A memorable analogy, and an unusual one, and one that he is remembered by in later books.
"On your knees, I want you to beg for forgiveness." -Sephiroth in "Advent Children"
A simple quote, but its a really good one if you understand the story of the movie, and how Cloud wants to be forgiven, and Sephiroth taunts him with these words. A good one.

"darkness, Evil & Hatred are supreme...Only fools would step in thier path" -Myself. The power of darkness, always outwieghts light, only in happy fairytales do the good ones win.
"I pity no man who is ignorent to the world around him. I only laugh, for he cannot foresee his own pathetic existence"
Myself also. A slect few would get it.
"He hates what they did to him, and now, he is beginning to hate everything, he wants to make it go away, he will make it all go away"
Quote about Spehiroth, FFVII. ( not to be mistaken by the AC quote)

"I laugh at you in victory and I laugh at you in defeat!" -Durandal- This is from Marathon 2 Durandal when he failed to save the Lh'owon system from the device called the Trih Xeem. (Trih Xeem means Early Nova) Durandal had defeated Tfear in combat before and this is Tfear's way of getting revenge, however in doing so, Tfear had unleashed a creature of chaos that was locked in Lh'owon's sun. The release of that chaos spelled the doom of the universe. Tfear may have defeated Durandal, but Durandal can't help but to point out Tfear's incompetence.

"What do I see? I see time as it affects all things. Human flesh whithers and dies before my eyes. Flowers bloom, only to fade. Trees drop green leaves, never to regain them. In my sight, it is always winter, always night."
Raistlin Majere - Dragons of Winter Night
A quote of Raistlin's referring to his cursed vision, the details of which are quite lengthy.

When I looked around, I saw and heard of none like me. Was I then a monster, a blot upon the earth, from which all men fled, and whom all men disowned?-The Hideous Progeny, Filthy Daemon, the monster.

"Those most powerful in Menzoberranzan spend their days watching over their shoulders, defending against daggers that would find their backs. Their deaths usually come from the front. -Drizzt DoUrden- The Legend Of Drizzt Book 1: Homeland
This is a quote describing the chaos that the Drow (Dark Elves) are accustomed to and just how careful one must be around them, even the Drow themselves must be weary of their own people. Anyone could die at any given moment.

"I am not certain of drawing my next breath. But go ahead. Walk into the wood that no living man has ever walked out of. Death is life's one great certainty,"
-Raistlin Majere
"You cannot pass... I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Arnor. The Dark Fire will not avail you, Flame of Udun. Go back to the shadow. You shall not pass."
-Gandalf in "The Fellowship of the Ring"

"Often I sit and ponder the turmoil I feel when my blades are at rest, when all the world around me seems at peace. This is the supposed ideal for which I strive, the calm we all hope will eventually return to us when we are at war, and yet, in these peaceful times, I do not feel as if I have found perfection, but rather, as if something is missing from my life." -Drizzt DoUrden- The Silent Blade
Apparently, Drizzt finds that he can't go back to a peaceful life after living almost a lifetime of action, excitement and adventure. Once one takes one of these paths, going back to a relaxing and peaceful life is not very fulfilling.

"And so I reject all but the most moderate use of such intoxicants, and while I'll not openly judge those who so indulge, I will pity them their empty souls." -Drizzt DoUrden- Spine Of The World by R.A. Salvatore
Drizzt is refering to his barbarrian friend Wulfgar. Wulfgar is lost and in torment from being haunted by demons for 6 years, his only escape from those memories of such torture are to get drink the night away, and not worry in his drunkenness. Drizzt has never resorted to that and he hopes he never will. He wants full control over himself and not to have some of it lost such intoxications.

"The last thoughts of Geostigma's dead... those remnants will join the lifestream and circle the planet; choking it; corroding it. What I want, Cloud, is to sail the cosmos with this planet as a vessel. Just as Mother did long ago. then one day we'll find a new planet and on it's soil we'll create a shining future."
-Sephiroth in "Advent Children"
After Sephiroth's appearance, and after Cloud asks him what he wants, this is his response. I would explain in further detail, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, and everyone who HAS seen it doesn't need a summary in a spoiler.

"In a game of chess, let the pawns go first." -Magneto- in X-Men The Last Stand.
Magneto has an army of mutants fighting against the humans. The humans have weapons to destroy their mutant cells and make them human, so Magneto sends fodder to take the blows, then the strong ones do the real fighting.

"Just tossing pebbles in a pond and watching the ripples. Shh...look, I will toss another."
-Dalamar the Dark (Raistlin's apprentice)
As I recall, this quote is referring to time, and how it is compared to a river, and if a person travels to a different time, or if a person tries to alter time, unless they are one of the original races, it is like throwing a small pebble into a raging river--time will proceed as it should, regardless of time-lost travllers. Dalamar is likely describing the small effects that can become of travelling time, but I do not completely recall this quote.
