Somebody is going to say this sooner or later, and I'm going to take this opportunity to do it now. We're more dead than ever. We don't have to be. We could so very easily get some members who would stay and bring this forum back to greatness. Instead, we all decided to come on once every few days and make this forum more deserted than ever.
I don't think this has been mentioned befor either, but this forum's 2nd birthday is coming up in a little over 2 weeks. March 12, I believe it is. And look where we are.
We need to do something. We can discuss what this "something" will be on this topic. I will gladly help out in any way I can. I want to see this site return to greatness.
Discuss.

GS Ive tried, but forcing people here is worse. If its this forums path to die, then it will die. Ive all I can, if no one comes, then no one comes, forcing people to come on everyday is worse than anything.

I know you've tried. We've all tried. I guess this is the end then. Unless somebody can pull off a miracle, we're sunk.

Realistically, what is the theme of this forum now? The creation and posting of various projects? There have been many, many wallpapers created and submitted, but no one rates them, that is one of the problems I see here. Reno's games have been delayed (For various reasons), and that seems to be the extent of any submissions. A shame that the forum change has yielded so little success. Even a new season of Lost seems to have had virtually no effect. Realistically, we don't have that many fewer members than we often do, but the only active board is the General Board. It is not as if there is not potential for more posting, it is simply not being taken advantage of.

I'm usually not one to admit defeat, but I don't deny the sorry state the forum is in. One of the problems is obvious: lack of people. But I see another problem. We have exhausted our list of topics. None of us seem to have anything more to say. Even the general board is ending up like the Lost board and the list of things to talk about has sucked dry. I see this as one of the biggest threats to the forum, it must be quelled before any progress is made.

The obvious solution to that is to get fresh opinions from new members, but the methods we've used have yielded virtually no success. The one new member we did have joined the forum for reasons unrelated to the forum itself, and lasted for 6 posts. What ever happened to the percieved potential with the affiliation project? Did that ever come through, Reno?

There is honestly nothing that can truley be done. I can advertise and advertise, its not going to do much.

We've tried and tried, and nothing has worked. Either we're looking in the wrong place, nobody gives a care, or both.
I really don't know if anything can be done.
Referring to Mal's earlier post, I do agree that we are running out of things to talk about. I've noticed it. I'm guilty of it, too. The thing is, this forum is not the only place I've noticed it. I've seen it on every single forum I'm a member of. And because of it, they're dead, except CM, but they talk about childish stuff like Pokemon.

That explains it then. Better that we die rather than degenerate into that.
There are yet possibilities, though. Advertising-wise, practically everthing has been tried, but just look at the past two days or so. In that space of time, 4 new wallpapers were submitted. There is potential for posting here, at least. Even if you don't know about the characters portrayed there, or if you don't have Photoshop to make your own, they can still be looked at and commented on. As for the general board, it is honestly very difficult to come up with discussion topics that do not immediately wither. Keep coming here every now and then, and create a topic, even if you doubt its life-span, and take a look at the wallpaper/drawing section if you wish. This forum is not completely dead yet.

Agreed. I for one am not ready to admit defeat yet. I say we try our best to maintain it until there is truly no longer any point to it. Who knows, perhaps a stoke of luck will come our way.

It will take more than just a stroke of luck to get this place going. BNN/DIF/TVL have been so un-luckly for the past year and a half its not even funny anymore. I too will start looking into diffrent methods of getting people here, different audiances, different groups to advertise, who knows. Maybe it can be lifted out of this hole.

I may know what you are thinking, but fill in the others as to what you're thinking. (Or fill me, in, too, if my assumption is wrong.)

Shoot. It has been a while since I last posted. I'm giong to be coming maybe once a week until Easter or so, but that doesn't mean I won't do anything to help this forum. In my constrained time this month, I can do what I can, but I don't know how much help it will be.

There might be a way I can help, but it won't take effect for a while. We will have to wait and see. I have a fairly good idea what my efforts might yeild already.
