This new wallpaper is of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty's Solidus Snake, one of the three clones of the original Big Boss. There is extensive story surrounding the character but, again, it is very lengthy. The effect I used is unique, and though I did not get exactly the result I wanted, I like how it turned out, just the same. You may notice in the background the image of a building, a statue, and perhaps a flag or two (The scaled down image makes seeing these things more difficult). This is a (very) faded image of Federal Hall in the United States, where Solidus fights his final battle, and also significant because Solidus served as President for a time, before resigning and later creating the terrorist group known as the Sons of Liberty. You may observe the blur trail on his two swords (Which are called Minshuto, which translates to 'Democracy Blade', and Kyowato, meaning 'Republic Blade'). This is an effect I created myself, as the actual image had a blur, but one that was transparent and thus showed the background which I could not remove. You will also notice in the top-left corner an image of Metal Gear RAY, which is obviously important to the storyline, and important enough to include in the wallpaper.

The background effect looks very complex and it complements the theme of Metal Gear. I've noticed your sword blur, and it works well, and I like the variation in the text. This one seems a bit lacking. A center piece would be nice, or anything in particular that would grab more attention. Aside from that This one is pretty good. I give it an 8/10.

In this wallpaper, I wanted to keep the center of the wallpaper open, so as the to get the full sight of the inner 'vortex', or rather the point where everything around it is pulled towards it. Also, I wanted the background image of Federal Hall to be more visible, as well as the statue included in that image. It is a slightly different style, one that I personally think worked reasonably well. Clearly there is divided opinions, though. I wanted to move away slightly from 'obvious-focus' type of wallpaper, and all this shows up better in the full-size version.

This wallpaper looks great. It is done quite well. The only thing I can pick out is the blue on the nose of MG RAY. It seems to be to "obvious" but its a great wallpaper.
8.5/10

I increased the glow on that myself. Apparently it didn't have the desired effect. At first, I was going for a more flaring glow, but it didn't quite pan out. But if that's the most that can be found wrong with it, that is hardly bad. Do you share Jarlaxle's opinion about an empty center?

No. Having images Riddeled all over the place can be overkill. In most cases a type of effect like that works well with a few add ons. "Focal blur" type backgrounds work well with lots of images. A center peice would ruin the effect.

I agree. One possible problem with this wallpaper, though could be that the artwork image of Solidus doesn't fit that well with the other images, which are basically just screenshots from the cutscenes.
