Overview:
This is for people new to forums and don't know how to make their own signatures. This is a step in the right direction for newcommers. This is an example of a signature made with lighting photoshop effects provided by several photoshop tutorials. Warning, these are mac based instructions.
Requirements:
Photoshop 5 or better.
Difficulty: X / 10
5/10
Step 1 : Go to File, then new, and you will end up with this page. Chose the size of your signature and the type of background it will start out with. Make sure your signature does not exceed 800 pixels in total. 200 height and 600 width is what we will use with a transparent background.
Step 2 : For this signature, we will use a simple lightning effect as our background which was Provided my several photoshop tutorials. Begin by going to Filter, Render Clouds as illustrated. Make sure the 2 color boxes have a black and a white colour selected.
Step 3 : Now go back to Filter, Render and Difference Clouds as illustrated.
Step 4 : Go open apple L to get to this screen.
Step 5 : Drag the centre triangle to approximately this point.
Step 6 : This should be what your effect looks like so far, or at least something similar.
Step 7 : Go open apple U to get to this screen.
Step 8 : Put a check mark in the colorize box and adjust the hue to a color you see fit for your signature.
Step 9 : You should have white lightning surrounded by a blue haze like this.
Step 10 : Make a new layer. (Layer, new, layer)
Step 11 : You don’t have to use text but it does make a good signature. It can be your name like Reno’s or a message like what Raistlin has. We will just use someone for the example but put what every you want on it.
Step 12 : Images are commonly used as well. Here is a sample of a crudely cut out image for this signature. The background is transparent so you won’t have a just portrait of a picture. Select the image and copy it.
Step 13 : Make another layer for this image and paste the picture there. To get this result, drag this new layer under your text layer.
