Overview: Today, your gonig to learn how to easily make the exact same lighsaber effect seen on the starwars movies. With Rotoscoping, you can make lightsabers, bullets, outlines, borders, anything! Step 1 : Open your image in Photoshop 5 or greater. Step 2 : Now, make a new layer, and call it "White 2", and outline the part you want to glow. Outline it using the lasso tool, or other tools ( in this case, the saber) Step 3 : Now, once its outlined, go Edit -> Fill. And fill it white. Step 4 : Now, you need to duplicate the White 2 layer over and over again. Name the first duplicated White 5, then White 10, then 15,20,25,30,35,40. Now, once your done duplicated and renameing, arrange them in oder of highest at the top. Step 5 : Now, go Filter->Blur->Guassian Blur. And enter the value that is after the white. So, for the white 15 layer, blur it 15. And ect. Step 6 : Once done, Merge all the White layers together EXCEPT "white 2". And rename it to " Color " Step 7 : Set the color layer Mode to screen. Step 8 : Go Ctrl+L on the color layer. And enter the INDIVIDUAL channel layers. ( 255,0,0 for red) (0,127,255 for blue,) and ( 0, 0, 255 for green) Your done! Cool hey?
