Overview: Now, at first glance, most people think Anim8or is a very hard program. Its not true. Aim8or, is probably the most easiest, 3D Modeler to use, and it is very powerful. Extermly powerful for a free, 1MB program. Now, Morphing is a type of animation used in movies, games, ect. Morphing does not use skeletons to move the model, rather a deformation of the model itself. Thus, by thinking for a second, you can visualize that morphing is best used for face movements, and talking. You are right, it is. This tut. will show you a very quick way to make a simple morph in anim8or. Now, take note: This tut. is used to teach. Even though its a very simple object, you will learn everything about morphing, and with practice, make your own talking scene!
Requirements:
->Anim8or. The new version, currently: 0.9c
->A good familiarity of Anim8or. You should know the features and such.
Difficulty: 8 / 10
Step 1 : Open anim8or, and enter the "Front" view setting. Easy, right?
Step 2 : Drag a shpere, and then double click it. Set the values acording to the picture below.
Step 3 : Now, Go Build-> Convert To Mesh.
Step 4 : Double click the mesh. And set the values of that mesh to those in the window below.
Step 5 : Go Build->Morph Target->New...
Step 6 : Call the morph whatever you want.
Step 7 : Now, with our morph selected, go to vertex mode, and select the top verticies.
Step 8 : Drag the top verticies up.
Step 9 : Selected the bottom verticies, and drag them down. What we are doing, is we are making a copy cat object of the original sphere. Now, when we animate it right, the original sphere, will become the morphed one!
Step 10 : Go to Scene mode, and add your object. Now, go to Enviromental settings, and set them like this. ( basically, turn the ground grid off)
Step 11 : Adjust your camera so you can see your object. As of now, its just the ordinary sphere we made back at step 2.
Step 12 : Now, expand our animation table, so we can see the objects animation trail...See the Morph there?
Step 13 : Double click the first frame on the morph section, and go: Add Key, and set the value to 0.000. What this does, is its telling anim8or to set all morphs for the object to 0. Which means, all the deforming we did, wont show.
Step 14 : Now, go to the end of the animation timeline, do the same thing, except, set the value to 1.0000. This will tell anim8or to make sure all morphing is at 100% at the frame. Now, wath your movie. Tada, it works. A morph and a half!
With this knowledge, you can now make your own morphs.
