The real meaning of power is gone. Once upon a time it was power in the mind, strength, ect. Now, power is nothing more than frail weak old man sitting behind his goverment desk. Pitiful. and sad what world Im trapped in.

It is but considering the other options available to us, we have been fortunate. We could be in China, Iraq or even Russia (Assuming they are still in economic crisis) or another country with even more problems. We have lots of our own but we have it considerably better.

I could care less of your imaginary places cut off by imaginary lines.

The borders do make a difference. It's just an outline of that countries territory and what land is theirs. There would be a lot of confusion if they wern't there.

See thats exactally it, we cant even live on the "same" land without people getting upset. Its so stupid.

It is, but until we can come up with something better, it will have to do for now. We could accomplish more if we could cooperate without using borders.

Yes, but no one wants to change. They all want to stay the same in thier little imaginary lined up word. Here, let me ask my imaginary friend what he thinks about the imaginary countries.
Anihaliation is what we deserve. Every...one of us.

Give us a few more centuries to evolve (It will probably take much more than that) and maybe then we can correct our flaws. It's too bad some people don't want to change, it could be for the better and we must realize that we can't maintain our ways forever.

A very hopeful outlook on the future, but hope is often flawed. What makes you think that humanity won't destroy iteslf in its ignorance? I hold little faith that humanity will "learn from its mistakes."

That is a possibility, but its also possible that we will get better. We may not seem to have potential now but that will change some day.

Or not. We will see, though we may not even find out in our lifetime.

Mal, since technology was been getting more and more advanced, humans have been becoming stupider and stupider. We can't do hard mathematical equations by hand anymore, a calculator is needed. Look at ancient Egypt. Ramses II himself designed his temple at Abu Simbel to have the light shine on 3 out of 4 statues in the back of his temple twice a year, on his birthday, and on the day he became pharoah. He had it pointed towards the sun perfectly. What's also crazy about that is that the one statue that the sun never shines on is the ancient Egyptian god of darkness.
No, our knowledge of technology will grow, which will result in deadly weaponry and possibly a chemical war out of hatred of each other, but our knowledge of everything else will fade into nothing.

Really, what does it boil down to? Basic instinct, I suppose. After all the millennia that have passed, and after all the breakthroughs in technology and discovery, the majority of the world's people are still ruled by the same instincts of competition and the willingness to destroy everything around us just to prove that we are the "strongest." In the past humans fought over food and territory, killing each other for infringing on those supposed rights, hitting each other over the head with clubs and spears and hammers. Today, we fight over oil and (in some places) water, and pieces of paper and metal. Today we hit each other over the head with nuclear warheads and bombs and bullets. Can a race cast aside its own basic instincts, even if it is necessary for their very survival?

Either result is possible. Our potential is limitless, yet our potential is only as great as the effort we put into it. Fighting our instincts can be done, but its not easy I will admit that.

It is definitely not easy. Humans seem to be dominated by a lust for warfare. I don't see that changing for quite some time.
