Reducing the texture quality can do wonders. most games use 512x512 and 1024x1024 textres. Reduceing the quality makes the textures become 256x256 and 512x512, or even lower, 128x128 and 256x256. But,. it looks much uglier, here is an example of texture quality::: A Land mass with a 512x512 texture: A land mass with a 64x64 texture: JUST LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE!!!

Heh. That's like Rogue Squadron 1. So I assume it worked.

RS1 is for the N64 right? If so, I played that game! and beat it, without cheats!

Especially the game cube. I tried reducing the texture quality some time ago and it didn't look great, but not bad either, it was bearable and as I expected it was not choppy at all. Something else that was wierd was that I tried a certain level and it was choppy, but when I went to the options and made sure I start in 3rd person mode insteat of 1rst person mode it worked fine after that. WHY THE HECK WOULD IT DO THAT!!??

well, probavbly in 1st person, the game switches to more detailed graphics since the camera is closer.

Actually, they probably get much more detailed, since you'll see the guns really close. From 3rd person, there probably just polygonal rectangles.

Well, I was talking about a horizon or something like that. But yeah, definitely guns.

Plus Mipmaps might increase as well. Since your closer to everything.
Mipmap: A texture that gets less quality the further away you are from the model.

It still doesn't make much sense.

It makes enough sense for me.

Its simple really. your defult texture is 256x256. If you get say 50 pixels away, it will reduce in size to 128x128, thus making the texture less detailed.
