With the costumes and all, it seems that they are more advanced than they appear to be. But I wonder how advanced...?
Therories anyone? ideas?

I suspect that they are much more advanced than they seem. I beleive that they were all once a part of the Dharma project at one point or another, that might explain their haggard look. They said that Locke was one of the good ones. To me that suggests that Locke is one of them and that could mean that Locke was also meant to be part of Dharma.

There was evidence in Three Minutes that they had just put up those huts. A few others in the background are seen tying a few things together. And, they have been on the island for longer than our Losties have, and yet they seem to be worse off than them. I have a feeling that somewhere, maybe on an offshore island or the big question mark, the baracks mentioned in the Pearl video is where they live.

I agree with you, the others defantly are located somewhere else, since in the SeasonFinale, those huts were simply empty, and Mike was leading to a compeltly different location (Where the Dock is) maybe they're in control of a more advanced station than the swan.

Let's use the process of elimination to figure out what hatch the others use. Not the Swan Not the Arrow The Pearl?-THe podcast claimed the cigarette was lit The Staff?-It has been used by them in the past Any others?

Maybe the Flame, and Belt, if it exists, and the other one, that hasnt been reconized yet.
Maybe the others control the Arrow as well, thats why the other group of survirors were being attacked so much, becuase they invaded The Arrow, and they wanted it back.

In another post reply you mentioned that as well. It does seem to make sense. I think that Eko and Locke should go back there in the 3rd season and blow open the doors, then see Fenry and Tom chowing down on a Dharma Initiative Sub Sandwich.

Perhaps they also have control over the real Pearl as you said Button presser.

Maybe they do, they defantly have control over the Barracks, the flame, the belt ( ?? ) the pearl, the arrow maybe, and the fake Door.

Assuming that there is a real Door at all.

I dont think so, I think the door was a project by Dharma, but was canceled due to lack of funding.

Or maybe people were asked to guard the door but weren't told why, but then they got curious and opened it revealing nothing there and abondoned it.

Sorta like push the button or observe? Maybe, but there is sorta no punishment for disobeying however. They're tld not to open the door, and when they do, nothing happends. They just leave.
