Explaining things Dharmatically

Ok. So we know from the Orientation that the Dharma Initiative studies Electromagnetism, Pyscholgy, Parapsychology, Utopian Socialism, Zoology, and Meteorology. Let us try and apply these sciences to explain things on the island.

The Polar Bears.
From the Blast Door Map, we obviously know why the Polar Bears are on the island. They are part of the zoology project of the Dharma Initiative.

The Whispers
In my opinion, these have something ot do with Parapyschological research, which is like telekenisis, etc.

The Hidden Island Effect
Another result of Electromagnetic research. (See wikipedia, the Philadelphia Experiment for more on this)
The Smoke
This could be possibly be the result of Electromagnetic research. The smoke is billions of particles suspended in the air by magnetism. It could also be a cross-psychology project, explaining the Eko visions of it.

The Others
The most likely conclusion is that they are either Dharma scientists in charge of Utopian Social Experiments or experiemnts themselves. There are two incidents, one could have been there release, the other the magnetism. This is why they are so obsessed with good people.

The Dreams+Visions
Possible, these are once again the result of some sort of parapsychological phenomona/research. Notice how these dreams often predict the future.

The Foot
I thought that this might have marked the location of genomic advancement, since in the future we will have four toes, and Dharma tried to create humans with four toes, and maybe other advancements? I really have no clue with this thing.

Desire for Children
Walt, we all know, has some parapsychological abilities, but what about the tailies Zach+Emma? They were seen later walking through the woods barefoot. They abducted Claire to get Aaron, which failed thanks to Rousseau. I just can't think of why they want children. What are your thoughts?

Any other mysteries that I can try to solve?

Electormagnetism could be in part for reasearching and in my theory applying that to radar sheilding.

Very interesting, for the Smoke, it is a possiblty that its a advanced thing that can re-write its DNA to anything it wants, this is Orginized Cells that can change its forum, and do anything it wants.

Exactally, and since it kills with fear, it can read fears, and then re-create those fears.

I have a mystery or 2

1.The balloon above Henry Gale's grave and the pregnancy test say Widmore labs on them.
2.The ceral box's barcode is 9FFTR731 but the containers in the room full of food in the hatch's barcode is DI 9FFTR731.

also in the Swan orientation when they mention the creators of Dharma look at the disk in the backround and you can see it has the same design as the sun picture on the tail of the plane that they crashed in.

Evolutionary Branch theory
The four-toed foot may have been built by a race of people with four-toed feet (due to some evolutionary branch).
A race of people with a total of 8 toes would probably use an octal numbering system.
This may have implications in the numbers and ties to 8-sided DHARMA logos.
4,8, and 16 in particular would be important numbers to a race who used octal as their numerical system.

Actually, you have a good point there. Has anyone managed to observe whether or not the others have four toes on each foot?

I don't think they do. SOme people on another forum I visit have looked and Fenry doesn't, but I'm sure that there are plenty of screenshots of them barefoot if you want to look.

I'm sure there are, most of them were just to proove if they did have 4 toes. Perhaps we should look for some early human that originally had four toes, we might find it.
