I have had some time to think today. Last season opening, they had something so un-Lost I had no idea what I was watching. What I'm thinking is that they open the Season 3 like this:
Some scientists are doing tests. They have masks on, covering their faces. Some thing happens, forcing them out. They pull off their scientist garments, still not showing their faces, and hten walk out onto the island, where the rest of the others are amassing outside of a hatch.
I thought that it might be too much info revealed, but maybe? WHat do you all think?

That would be neat to see, really neat, and maybe showing a Incident scene as well, back in the 1980s sorta of like what your saying. Lost S2 was a very unexpected opening, I hope S3 will be the same.

I don't know about the exact opening scene, but I suspect that they may run a few of the opening episodes without Locke and Eko, to keep the suspense going, but then again, one is never absolutely sure with Lost.

I was just saying that would be cool and would follow the season opening spirit

It would indeed, but I wouldn't expect something like that in the 3rd season but you never know. I would think that it begins with the others and their prisoners. What they will do is beyond me right now.

Perhaps you have a point Buttonpusher, I have just recently watched the Season 1 pilot, and the Season 2 pilot seems to follow the mysterious beginning trend, so perhaps some tradition will play into the season 3 opener.

Or maybe showing the Dharma Incident?

That's possible. This is somewhat unrelated to the specific topic, but did anyone else watching on ABC notice the Hanso Foundation advertisment? Something to expand the Lost fanbase?

Defantly, someone should make a topic about this on the Section in the Lost ARG, its a little unpopular at the moment.

I posted a thread there once but I deleted it by accident. I will start it again right now.

I think the scene will open in the past, 100's of years in the past and it may have something to do with that giant foot.

That's possible. It does seem to suggest an old civilization, perhaps more is shown about them.

Im hoping it shows the " Incident" It would be an awsome way to start the Season. Maybe like this:
Scientists doing there thing, large explosion, the scenery looks very familiar, like the Swan, everything starts shaking, stuff is getting sucked towards the wall, a large object hits one of the scientists, his arm is ripped off, the camera shows his face, only to be Dr. Marvin Candle himself.

ooo that's cool. However, unless his arm was made of metal, it couldn't have ripped off unless a large sharp object hit him. He was probably in another explosion somewhere else. Maybe that will be shown.
