Im not sure if anyone has started a books thread yet..but if not then here is one.
Here is my reading list for the month
COMPLETED
I am going for a dystropian theme this month, though i doubt i will finish them all. Anyway, this is just for books that you like, you hate, or that you recommend. I recommend anything by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, although most of you are fantasy fans. I read the LOTR(Lord of the Rings) and enjoyed those, but im sure you have already read them. So...someone keep this topic going, or delete it if there already is one. Next month is virus-destroys humanity month, so i am open for suggestions.

There is already a books topic, I'm surprised you forgot about it, you and I sustained for quite some time, but there's nothing wrong with starting a new one, though perhaps I should move the old one to the garbage threads.
From what I've seen from LOTR and The Hobbit, they appear to be brilliantly made books, but to be honest, the Hobbit was boring for me. I like having a descriptive story but i think that book might have over did it.
If you remember TMP, I mentioned that the antagonist of the story had an ironic name. Since you have read the book you should know who i speek of, unless the movie i saw was different from the book. Was he named Naploeon?

Which story do you refer to?
About the Hobbit, it was good, kind of boring, (Bilbo faints at the start of the only major battle) but it made an interesting prelude to the LOTR.
I began 1984 too, but Farenheit is shorter so im reading it first, then '84.

Can't wait to see it. I was asking if in Animal Farm, the main antagonist was named Napoleon.

Ill try and get hold of it today, my friend told me it was short so if i get it i will most likely finish.
Yeah, i finished it last week. After i read the giver, manchurian candidate, and iron boot and the month's not over yet, im open for suggestions, but if its november, ill need some books that have to do with global pandemics, ive already got The Last Man and Andromeda Strain set up, but ill most likely need more. SO if anyone knows of any good ones, tell me here.
I went to the library, and it has none of those. It's dissappointing. I ordered them from the main branch though and they should be there in a few days.
Today i found a few good ones, The Manchurian Candidate, The Martian Chronicles, and Iron Heel, not Iron Boot. Ill end the month with them.

Sorry for the double-post, but otherwise this thread would never go anywere again.
I finished the Iron Heel and The Martian Chronicles, and dont really feel like starting the Manchurian Candidate. I think I am going to pick up some of Isaac Asimov's books this month. Look in reviews for my review of Iron Heel and Martian Chronicles

Both have an interesting plot, but I'm not so sure its material I would be so ready to read. That Martian story was my personal favorite based on your summaries. Did they ever explain why the air was breathable?

Well, it was said that the air was too thin for some, so a contemporary Johnny Appleseed planted trees all throughout the planet, and the soil for some reason allowed the trees to grow at an accelerated rate.
I have changed my november theme of the month to robots. I have acquired the complete robot related works of isaac asimov, from my local library. I am very curious to see how i react to one of the greatest writers of science fiction. Let us hope it is a positive one.

Well the author is very famous, if you have ever heard of the movie I, Robot he is the one responsible for the books behind the movie. He invented the word robotics and positronic. Isaac Asimov

His writing style is great, he manages to keep a plot while sneaking in technical information that is very realistic. The Caves of Steel is the first part of the big book i got from the library. It has every single robot related work of Asimov, two novels and then probably 30 or so short stories. The movie itself was baed off of one of the novel and 9 of the short stories. I just realized something incredibly ironic. I write soft science fiction, but i read its genre opposite, Hard Science Fiction
